About U.s. Hunger
We are on a mission to address hunger at its root causes. Join us as we feed families today and unite them to a healthier tomorrow.

U.S. Hunger is a global 501(c)(3) headquartered in Longwood, FL. The organization addresses hunger through a combination of stimulating volunteerism, creating access to nutritious meals for low-income families and individuals, and employing cutting-edge technology to educate the greater community on the root causes of food insecurity.
This unique approach combines an educational emphasis on underpinning socioeconomic factors that drive food insecurity alongside practical steps to provide immediate aid. We deeply value financial transparency and impactful results, ensuring every contribution made truly matters.

Together we have activated more than one million volunteers to pack and distribute over 160 million meals in 53 countries, and every state of the United States. Additionally, U.S. Hunger has served as a primary vendor for the official 9/11 National Day of Service organization– accounting for nearly 45% of the organization’s total 11+ million meals packed since 2016.
With over a decade of expertise and experience, we believe it is fitting to establish a celebration of the country’s second national day of service, MLK Day, in our own backyard.
MLK Service & Technology Scholarship Awards
Since 2020, USH has supported the efforts of The Orlando Mayor’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission’s support of its MLK Humanitarians. The Mayor’s Youth Humanitarians are 27 outstanding community youth who exemplify the ideals embraced by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through their character and leadership.
Each year, one student is selected from each of the 27 high schools throughout Orlando based on the content of their character and service to others in the community.
In a fully collaborative effort, 50% of the contribution of organizations that sponsor the Orlando Mayor’s MLK Commission will be credited toward the sponsor levels.
A percentage of the Justice, Dignity, Equality, and Freedom sponsorships will be directed to a scholarship fund.
